چکیده

A parallel algorithm which has sufficient scalability for time accurate solution of a propagating detonation wavefront is developed. The emphasis is placed on reduction of computational time without compromising accuracy. The flow was assumed to be unsteady, inviscid and non-heat-conducting and coupled with finite-rate chemistry. A finite volume formulation was employed to ensure conservation and proper handling of discontinuities. A Runge-Kutta second order scheme was utilized for a time accurate solution, with Roe second order flux splitting scheme for spatial solution. For additional higher order spatial accuracy, van Leer MUSCL technique was employed. Equation stiffness was overcome by point implicit treatment of the source terms. The parallel algortihm was developed using Message Passing Interface standard.

Numerical Simulation to Investigate the Effect of Obstacle on Detonation Wave Propagation in a Pulse Detonation Engine Combustor

Pulse detonation technology can be a revolutionary approach for propulsion system since it offers significant fuel efficiency, higher thrust to weight ratio and low cost. Although the design concept of a pulse detonation engine is comparatively simple, but the development and stabilization of sustainable detonation wave front is difficult. Consequently pulse detonation engine technology is stil...

تأثیر مدل‌سازی تراک1 در محاسبه خواص موج بلاست ناشی از انفجار ابر هوا- سوخت

In this work the effect of the accuracy of a FAE detonation modeling on the generated blast wave is investigated. First, a one-dimensional numerical simulation with a reduced chemical kinetics of C2H2-O2-Ar, involving 25 elementary reactions, is used as the base model. The properties of the blast calculated with this model is compared with those of simpler models, the similarity solution of Tay...

High resolution WENO simulation of 3D detonation waves

In this paper, we develop a three-dimensional parallel solver using the fifth order highresolution weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO) finite difference scheme to perform extensive simulation for three-dimensional gaseous detonations. A careful study is conducted for the propagation modes of the three-dimensional gaseous detonation wave-front structure in a long square duct with differe...
